Meet the owners of Moonshadow Luxury Shepherd Huts - Helen Read and Sarah Turner.

Renowned for their hospitality your stay is sure to have a personal touch.

Helen and Sarah (or Sarah and Helen, whichever way round you want!) started welcoming guests in July 2022. They look forward to welcoming you to this very special place to share their love of Cornwall with you and to making your stay with them a memorable one.

SARAH

Sarah is one half of the Moonshadow Shepherd Huts partnership with Helen. She was born and grew up in Cornwall and she and Helen have been friends from the age of 11.

Sarah’s career in International Human Resources took her to Los Angeles California, working for the film company Warner Bros.

On returning to the UK she moved back to her beloved home county, Cornwall and started a holiday cottages business. The shepherd huts are the next natural step to take in the hospitality business.

Any spare time is spent sailing, skiing, gardening, theatre, cinema and spending time with friends. She has 3 step children and 3 grandchildren who absolutely love to visit Cornwall whenever they can.

HELEN

Like Sarah, Helen was born and brought up in Cornwall, a stone’s throw from the wild and beautiful Atlantic ocean with its rugged cliffs and long sandy beaches. She met Sarah on their first day at grammar school in Truro and both have remained firm friends ever since.

Her love of travel, cycling and meeting people have taken her to all corners of the globe from New Zealand to South America to India and back to Europe but her heart has always remained in Cornwall and it is here, after nearly thirty years of teaching in the county, that she and her husband set up a successful holiday letting business.

The shepherd huts are the next chapter in her wish to provide luxury and unique holiday accommodation in a beautiful location.

Graham is married to Helen and calls himself the ‘Estate Manager’ - he has been involved with all the groundwork and getting the shepherd huts in place from day one. He keeps the 5 acres of woodland and gardens immaculate with our talented and hardworking gardener Paul.
